The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a large, infrared telescope that will be launched into space in 2021. It is designed to study the most distant objects in the universe and will be the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope. The telescope is named after James E. Webb, who was the administrator of NASA during the Apollo program.
